The Man of the Month talks to “Celebrity” magazine

Recently Nikos Economopoulos was named "The Man of the Month" by "Celebrity" magazine. The outstanding young singer gave an iterview to them.

What he was talking about?

Here are some most important statements he made and answers he gave:

With his new album "Tha Eimai Edo" Nikos started to work from April. He is very proud with this work . (He names authors and 2 songs , which were first on air)

Nikos said, the fact that the album became double platinum within the first days, shows that people appreciated this work and he is very thankful for that.

The collaboration with Phoebus happened spontaneously, without any connection to the fact that Nikos is working on stage with two Phoebus’ stars. Phoebus just proposed him one song (Kai ti egine), as he felt that it will suite Nikos.

The names of Despina Vandi and Elli Kokkinou came out while Nikos was discussing a new season programme with Thanasis Papageorgiou, who runs some nightclubs in Athens and with whom Nikos works already for five years. The idea impressed Nikos and “the girls”, as Nikos calls the divas, were enthusiastic too.

He is happy his dream to become a singer came true and he did it by his own actions. Nikos does not want to be popular without any reason and sense and this was not his goal when he took part in the “Dream Show” , his only interest is singing and he is honest to people.

He does not like to talk about his private life and he believes, those who are showing off their life can win attention, but this is a temporary price.

His parents are very happy with his success.

His relationships with women go the “healthy way” as he says :- “I am flirting, they are flirting”

Nikos is not searching for a girl for him, he is mostly interested now in his singing.

He does not drink in general and he is not using drags.

His main passion is his work, his singing. He can’t live without it.

He likes to watch football, but he can’t go to the stadium, because he loses control and starts screaming, which is bad for his voice.

He is a homebody, who likes to sleep and relax at home.

He often goes to his home town, to Kato Achagia (near Patras)

People in Patras love him and he is very thankful for that. He starts and finishes his summer seasons in Patras.

He believes he is an open book, he has nothing to hide.

His dream is to have a family and he would like to have three kids.

Nikos Economopoulos talks at MEGA TV show "Proino Mou"

Nikos Economopoulos gave a revealing intervew , being a guest of the Mega TV show “Proino Mou”, to the hosts Georgos Liagas and Fay Skorda.
He told about his way to success, which started in Patras and Kato Achagia, the place, where he spent his childhood.

Nikos began to sing at 6 and wanted to be a singer from his early years.
He was working helping his father and his uncle with their fishery business from the age of 12 and from 13 he combined this job with his work in the pizzeria. He was not graduated from the high school due the absences,
The boy prefered to have his morning hours having a cup of coffee somewhere out. Nikos explains his attitude with his confidence that he is going to be a singer and , as a result, he did not want to learn other subjects.
At the same time singer admits that he enjoyed the school, but not because of the lessons. And he was really good with sports there.

From the age of 18 he started his professional singing career. One man, a bouzouki player from Pirgos, found Nikos in the pizzeria and invited to the club, where he was working. Since then Nikos was never working in Patras, the first time he sang in Patras was only when his first record was released.
The favourite voices in “Laika” stile for him always were Paschalis Terzis, Makis Christodoulopoulos and , of course, Giannis Parios, whom Nikos calls “father” and Giannis, in turn, calls Nikos “son”
The second passion after singing for Nikos is good cars.

Answering to the questions about his personal life, he said that he has got two brothers, there are no girls in the family. He joked, that he will make one himself, when he will have his own family. But he is not feeling ready to start a family just yet. He is too involved at the moment with the development of his career.

Nikos likes girls and flirting with them, but he did not have a long term relationship for awhile. The longest one was lasting for one and a half year, but, as he admits, he was not faithful then.

Nikos, due to the specifics of his work, has a chance to meet many girls in the club. They are coming to his dressing room.(He even had a relationship with one of this girls, as he confessed.) In his future wife he would like to have a combination of the external beauty and such inner qualities as honesty, politeness and maturity. In general he likes to talk to people (no matter a man or a woman it would be) about things which make a sence.
Georgos Liagas mentioned, that the way Nikos talks is displaying his intelligence (he said: ‘you are not talking as a person who did not finish a high school’)
Nikos said, that even though he did not get an education, his future children
will be educated people.
Georgos pointed out, that Nikos is a very successful singer, a star. But Nikos denied it, he does not see himself as a star. The real star for him is Michael Jackson.
He said some Christmas greetings and wishes, among which were health and happiness to all the people.

Nikos Economopoulos' interview to “Paidia tou Sol”

In the recent interview to the programme "Paideia Tou Sol” ( Chldren of G) at radio Aigaio, Nikos Economopoulos was answering the questions by Georgos and Giannis Solaris.
The main reason for the interview was the fact, that the new album by Nikos "Θα Είμαι Εδώ" ( I’ll Be here) became double platinum in the first two days of sales.
Nikos said he is always saying thanks to God and to the people who support him.
The topic went to the subject of the economic crisis. Nikos is feeling nostalgic for the times, when the childhood was carefree. Now many children have to work from the early age, such as 12, instead of playing.
(By the way, Nikos in his childhood was working in the fishery of his father). On the other hand, if the young people want to work, there is no job.
Regarding his work together with Despina Vandi and Elli Kokkinou in “Fever” he said, that the season there will last till March. He also said, that the relationship between three of them goes very well, even though they can’t be as close friends, because thy are women and have their families. Three of them are doing everything people to have a good time there, in “Fever”
Georgos mentioned, that so many people in FB love Economopoulos and
Nikos said that he also loves them and this is a relationship on the distance, but it is a sincere one. Even though God gave him a gift to sing, Nikos does not feel like he is something special. He is working, same as other people are working in various fields.
Georgos said that there are some messages with questions form the FB fan page “Νίκος Οικονομόπουλος Αυτό το Αστέρι”. Nikos said, he knows these guys and that he likes very much what they do.
While answering to one of these FB messages in regards the things he does not like, Nikos used a quotation from his new hit, the song “Poutana stin psichi” : “The lie, hypocrisy and selfishness”
For the New Year Nikos would like to have happiness, love, joy and his job; he is satisfied working, he does not depend on something as long as he is working and his time is busy with his work. And if no singing, he would love to be involved in the car racing.
Answering to Giannis invitation to come one day to spend time on Syrus, Nikos said that he does not have much time for holidays. He also said he appreciates their support of the laika songs. In Athens this genre is having less attention form the radio stations.
That many people now want everything foreign on radio and laugh at Greek music. But he is going to sing laika songs till the time he’ll die.

“Paideia tou Sol” invated to the radio station a girl, which is a big fan of Nikos to ask him a few questions.
Eleutheria Dalmira was many times at Nikos’ concerts, she has got some photos together with him and she is a very passionate his admirer. So, before the questioning, she expressed her admiration with his singing and the new songs form the album.
Eleutheria asked Nikos about his communications with fans, who come to his dressing room after the concerts.
Nikos said, that he is having many visitors at his dressing room to take photos and sign autographs. He likes to say jokes, but he is having a very short time. And people complain, because they are waiting for so long
“What can I do? May be to cut myself in half?” (laughed)

At the end of the topic “Paideia tou Sol” and Nikos exchanged some jokes and Christmas greetings.
Many thanks to Eleutheria Dalmira for her work with this article!

What Nikos Economopoulos told Manos Kornaros at Radio Melody 88

Radio broadcaster of the Melody 88 Manos Kornaros once again organized an interview with Nikos Economopoulos at the programme “Music Stars” (Mousika Asteria). Year ago their conversation was dedicated to the multi -platinum album “Doro Gia Sena”
This time the topic was about Nikos’ new CD “Tha Eimai Edo”, which went Double Platinum within two days of sales!

Here are some thoughts, feelings and revelations that Nikos shared with with the listeners of the radio Melody 88:

1. He believes that the fact CD went Double Platinum in 2 days is saying that it was a good work done.
2. He thinks, that CD “Tha Eimai Edo” in general made as always: it has some laika and some pop songs of various kind the new is, that there are some new collaborations with authors there. Among them are Christodoulos Siganos and Valentino, Georgos Sabanis, Phoebus, Dimitris Paraskevopoulos and Panagiotis Mandilaris

3. Nikos likes the song “Poutana Stin Psichi”. He admits, that in his personal life he can swear to express some negative feelings, so, form that point the song shows the truth. The situation described in this song does not reflect the life experience of him, but still it is a truthful story, which happens to people.

4. He believes he sings for people and about them, that’s why his songs can be not reflecting his own life experience.

5. The songs for the CD he selects by liking the words and, of course, music. Music must be having laiko song elements and to be not that much modernized.

6. He said about award night, where his “father” in music, Giannis Parios, was one of the guests. Also there was Elli Kokkinou Nikos works together at “Fever”.

7. The collaboration with Despina Vandi and Elli Kokkionu at “Fever”goes perfectly well. The season in “Fever” will last till March.

8. The person who did and who is doing a lot for Nikos is Thanasis Papageorgiou.

9. For the New Year he would like to wish himself and his family health and happiness, but even more he wishes it to other people, who have many problems in the time of economic crisis.

Famous politician about the meaning of the new song by Nikos Economopoulos

The new song by Nikos Economopoulos titled "Poutana stin psychi” (Whore in the soul) has become a focus for discussions. Some were quick to censor and say that it is unacceptable to run such a song. Some others defended it vigorously.

The singer himself clarified that he has no purpose to offend women with this song. This song is addressed to man or to some of those who, according to the singer, have gone hard in their love life.

One of those who have a certain opinion about the new song is a former district commissioner Panayiotis Psomiadis, who replaces the role of women described in the lyrics with the politics!

Mr. Psomiadis told the radio show of Spyros Haritatos that he did not bother at all with the song, but in contrary, he sees, that it reflects and radiates the reality.

"The lyrics look for me political and full of resentment. As a politician I fell I should apologize to the Greek people and the youth of Greece. My generation of politicians humiliated Greece, sold Greece and the dreams of young people "he said.

I am not a man of public relations - Δεν είμαι άνθρωπος των δημόσιων σχέσεων

Nikos Economopoulos started with a talent show but was able gradually to become one of the best, and perhaps the best, singer of his generation. 'Pure' singer presents his new CD and talking to the magazine "Tiletheatis" about his great love to the song and the collaborations he has done.

What is the brightest moment of your career?
"My collaboration with Giannis Parios. Hi is a great man. He is, in my opinion, the greatest Greek singer, his voice accompanies our lives for forty years. "
Have you said many "no" in your career?
"I've said enough 'no' to publicity -- it is not my job. I am not a man of public relations, the parties, I do not believe that we must look for any opportunity to promote your work."

Ποια είναι η πιο φωτεινή στιγμή της καριέρας σου;
Έχεις πει πολλά «όχι» στην καριέρα σου;

I Bled For You - Ματωσα για σένανε (Lyrics translation)

Words: Nikos Vaxavanelis
Music: Panagiotis Brakoulias

Again the dawn caught me,
Wasted,drunk half -myself
I touch the things you left
Hugging, caressing and kissing them.

Tell me where to look for you,
In the empty bottle?
In the sigarette smoke I’m looking for you,
I am dying without you, I can't live like that!
I crush the glass I hold
I bled for you and split in two ...

This night I forgot my name
I forgot who I am , I am drunk
Only one thing I did not forget
It is your face, when you said "I love you"

Many thanks to George Vaxavanelis for help !!!

Whore In The Soul - Πουτάνα Στην Ψυχή (Lyrics translation)

Lyrics: Panagiotis Mandiliaris
Music: Dimitris Paraskevopoulos
Nikos Economopoulos – “Tha Eimai Edo” 2011

Lies, hypocrisy and selfishness
Are the features of your faulty and cheap nature.
Lies, hypocrisy and a guilty soul
Make you one of the ten plagues.

It would be less shamefull
If you sell your empty body thousand times,
Thousand times you could be a real hooker,
But you're the worst one, because
You are the whore in the soul

Lies, hypocrisy and selfishness
Everything, unfortunately, was hidden inside you.
Your life without God and gratitude
Does not deserve neither pity no respect.

Many thanks to Eirini Eusebi for her help with the translation!

Look For Me - Ψάξε με (lyrics translation)

Words: Vangelis Karatzanos
Music: Vasilis Daramouskas
Nikos Economopoulos – “Tha Eimai Edo” EMI (2011)

Don’t try to find me in the lie and emptiness
Don’t try to find me in the hugs for no reason
Don’t try to find me in the things I have given you
Don’t try to find me in what can hurt you

Look for me in the mirror of your own eyes
In the hidden paths of the night
In the mirror of the tears in your eyes
Look for me in the mirror of your own eyes
In the hidden paths of the night
In the silence of the nights

Don’t try to find me in the moment you don’t deserve
Don’t try to find me in the twisted thoughts
Don’t try to find me in the feelings that have gone
Don’t try to find me among those who betrayed you

Look for me in the mirror of your own eyes
In the hidden paths of the night
In the mirror of the tears in your eyes
Look for me in the mirror of your own eyes
In the hidden paths of the night
In the silence of the nights

Many thanks for the help to Eirini Eusebi!!!

I’ll Be Here - “Θα είμαι εδώ” (Lyrics translation)

Music : Georgos Sabanis
Words: Eleni Giannatsoulia

Nikos Economopoulos - Νίκος Οικονομόπουλος
Θα είμαι εδώ 2011 EMI (Greece)

Everything good once should come to the end … I knew that
But this end, I thought, would come much …. later
Midnight, 12 o’clock, you switched off the lights and all the miracles
You said "I don't even care for Nikos" and you left
But you should know that I love you
And I will live where you left me.

I'll be here, always here, I will live, imagine
For a turn of your key one night
I'll be here for you to come and save me
And I'll be here to let you betray me
Once again…

I was showing you the stars, but your mind was … running
Your lifeless hands were caressing me and it was …raining
“This is the lifelong love” – we were … thinking
We say "goodbye" and the beginning we don’t … remember
But you should know: I love you, and I will live where you left me.

Where will you take me to - Που θα με πας (lyrics translation)

Music : Georgos Sabanis
Words: Eleni Giannatsoulia

Nikos Economopoulos
“Tha Eimai Edo” 2011

If you are the midnight for the big dreams
You will find roses on the stairs near the wide opened door
And if I will waste away because of love I change my oath:
In front of you I'll throw away the souvenirs on the road
Will you take me along, will you love me, or my life is a struggle?
Either I am always in your embraces, or my life's in ruins!

Tell me, where will you take me to, will you take me to the stars?
Or, may be, you get lost and I'll be in pain!
Tell me you'll love me or you're armed with knives?
. Will you live for me or you are going to leave me?

And if it happens that you appear walking in my dream -
Step softly, I would say, for not to wake me up
To tell the truth I'm afraid of love -
I have not forgotten the wave, but I don't remember the ships.
Will you take me along, will you love me, or my life is a struggle?
Either I am always in your embraces, or my life's in ruins!

Of course, we were there firstly because we love very much Nikos and secondly because we are everywhere ...

Nikos Economopoulos, very cheerful and honest, as always, told Natalia that he does not care to be in fashion, the only thing that he cares is his job. He was asked by Natalia how he feels about having 5 albums under his belt, while some his older colleagues have less than that. Nikos replied that probably it's because he works longer and is not running from one party to another.

He also said that the performance programme depends on the cooperation, that this is indivisible part of the show in the “Fever” nightclub, that the whole programme is tailored to measure. Besides, he said that his passion is to run in races with cars and that the Christmas tree he will be decorating by himself this year ( Why that, Nikolaki? May be this is because if to put a statement about who wants to help Nikos Economopoulos in decorating the Christmas tree you know what would happen? There will be the crowd to fit an entire stadium with volunteers, especially girls-volunteers !!!!)
Nikos Economopoulos, generally represents himself as a lonely guy, he said that in the evenings he likes to go alone to the sea and listening to music because he is an artist. He said that all the things he wants to say about his life he tells through his songs.

He said, that he is a perfectionist, so this applies to the way he works with the songs – he always asks permission from the authors to let him add his own style features to the songs.
Finally, Nikos expressed his disappointment with the TV, saying that the TV is on the verge of collapse and does not like to watch anything; regarding politics he suggested people should not wait when the situation will be changed, he believes everybody has to look how to change themselves. As for the radio, he said, that the radio doesn’t like the laika songs. When Natalia agreed with him, he joked, that she, as well, probably can’t change the situation but can change herself.

After the interview to Sfera, Nikos willingly made some statements for us (

- Welcome to your new CD! How do you feel each time you release a new album;

- One step forward!

- Anxiety?

- Always! But it is a good stress, however, to expect when you wait for a response and a positive response from people.

- You know you will have it!

- I am not that confident!

- Last year we talked about the male-dominated programmes you were commonly involved. This year you did the reverse by working with two women ...

- Yes, I have two of them, Elli and Despina. Everything is fine, very nice, cooperation, it is excellent and we have our audience. People come well, although we are in difficult times, we say - thanks God!

- What cooperation, finally, is better: with men or with women, because last year you told me how you like the male-dominated shows ...

- Each collaboration is different! In all my collaborations I've been through very nicely, without saying many, many lies and fooling the world that everything is fine, Indeed, I have gone very well and I can not hide it.

And tell me something last, to avoid a delay, because you already have an exit interview ...I’ve heard ... that in your new CD there is a zeibekiko to be discussed much ...

- Yes, but I prefer to analyze this in the interview that we will do together. We will do the interview any time soon?

-Of course! You became our every year omen, indeed!

- Well, you do it this year then! I have been told that I am a lucky sign, that’s it!

- Sure, for us you are! Quickly renew our appointment time, we wish you good luck and thanks!

- And I thank you very much! See you soon!

Nikos Economopoulos gives a vision to the first single from his new album «Θα ‘μαι εδώ» (I'll be here), which to be released on Monday, December 12 under the label of EMI. The song «Και τι έγινε» (So, what’s happened) is the first record of Nikos together with Phoebus and it has already climbed to the top of radio charts,. The video clip and the design of the CD cover are directed by Konstantinos Rigos.

The filming was happening at the Old Tannery at the Botanical and lasted until the early morning hours. According to the concept of the video clip Nikos Economopoulos is looking at an abandoned site at a ghost of a girl. Despite the cold and the long hours of filming Nikos showed his absolute professionalism and cooperated well with the director and the team. His costume was directed by Anna Zazia.

«Θα ‘μαι εδώ» is the second record of Nikos with EMI, it contains 14 songs of Phoebus, Valentino,Christodoulos Siganos, George Sampanis, Heleni Giannatsoulia, Alekos Chrisovergis, Spiros Giatras and others. Kind Heart - Καλή καρδιά (Lyrics translation)

Nikos Economopoulos (2011)

Music: Christodoulos Siganos

Words: Christodoulos Siganos & Valentino

The equation of life is nostalgia

And I feel nostalgic about the moments with you

But I look back at our story

And don’t hold bad things in my memory

I forgive you, my sweet love

Look, we did not make it

The loneliness is painful, really,

But I wish you the best

I forgive you, my sweet love

We had wandered the wrong way

The loneliness is painful, really,

But I wish you the best

I am afraid that one day we will meet each other

By chance I'll see you ,

What really we'll feel- who knows,

And if we will feel, then I say again

Original lyrics:

What's written about the premiere at "Fever" (review of the Internet publications)

Last Friday, 25th of November, the highly anticipated premiere " Vandi-Economopouls-Kokkinou" took place at the night club "Fever"with a big success.

So, what can we learn about how did this event go by reading the Internet?

Cursory review of the articles from various sources creates the following picture:

On Friday night the club was packed and the show lasted till 5. 30 Am., this was confirmed in all the reviews. The differences appeared in style and in the selection of facts.

For example, a popular site under "Celebrity life" calls their article: “Vandi- Kokkinou: how did the premiere go" where describes dresses of both divas and mentions the couple of their songs. Then they give us a short list of guests and that's it.

The Internet magazine “Tlife” in their publication says a bit more about three singers, but in very general words. Though, their genre is a photo reportage, so we can accept their information as pretty much satisfactory.

Now, what we read in The biggest attention here was paid to the Despina Vandi sexy outfit. A couple of words were said about the short dress of Elli Kokkinou, and about Nikos Economopoulos - that he sang his old and new songs (!) Well, some important guests were named: “Demis Nikolaidis with buddy friend Akis Zikos, Phoebus, Elijah Psinakis, Dimitris Kontopoulos”

The most detailed and the only proper review was provided by

Their reportage describes not only Despina Vandi’s dress with open back or Elli Kokkionu’s “mini”, but provides musical comments as well. And in this case, of course, they could not avoid the fact, that Nikos Economopoulos entrance with his “Doro Gia Sena” was greeted by the audience stood up. Indeed, what else a male singer can propose public: no cleavage, neither opening of other parts of the body will help in that case. Only voice and professionalism are singer's weapons. And these two qualities Nikos Economopoulos really does have. That's why the public, according to, was greeting every song he sang and was singing them along.

From Tralala’s article we learn, that the final part of the show was dedicated to the traditional laika song and three singers were performing old time favorites together, creating a very warm atmosphere.

At the end confirms, that this show is ‘a must’ to go to.

Nikos Economopoulos’ concerts in Thessaloniki

Nikos Economopoulos gave two sold out shows at Pili Axiou in Thessaloniki. The public of the Northern Capital welcomed the young singer with a very big enthusiasm; and he was more cheerful than ever, giving his best on stage!
In particular, he said: "I can’t believe what I saw here, what I’ve experienced!
I and the audience together were feeling something fantastic!"

The program of the favorite artist kept the fans excited until the early morning hours, among the biggest successes was the new hit by Phoebus titled "So, what happened!" included by Nikos to the show.

The radio producer Sotiris Karampetsos visited Nikos Economopoulos in his dressing room to say his congratulations. There, during the warm friendly conversation they discussed some business topics.
Currently, Nikos Economopoulos prepares for his performances in Athens, along with Elli Kokkinou and Despina Vandi, which is going to be one of the most popular shows this winter.!

SO, WHAT’S HAPPENED - ΚΑΙ ΤΙ ΈΓΙΝΕ (lyrics translation)

Music & words by Phoebus

Nikos Economopoulos 2011

I was in love without being loved

I know that you were one of those

Who will finally break my heart

Well, do as God tells you. ..

So, what’s happened?

And you came to burn the remains.

Near you I knew what my dawns will be like

So now what are you waiting for? Just finish it,

Finish it…

I was suffering so much, I can’t remember

About it, and now I fear nothing

So, baby, what you will tell us now?

For me you will be one more storm passed.

Many thanks to George Vaxavanelis for help !!!

Radio premiere of the song "Kai ti egine" (review)

Sings: Nikos Economopoulos
Music and words: Phoebus

Radio premiere of the song "Kai ti egine" by Phoebus, written for and performed by Nikos Economopoulos created a bomb explosion effect. Listeners' opinions divided diametrically, the most of the comments say that it is one more success of Nikos, but some declare that it is a failure. I think a certain stereotype plays the great role in this judgment. Many of the references are addressed not even to this particular song, but in general to the idea of the cooperation between the most popular young laiko singer with this incredibly successful songwriter and producer.
In recent years, quite a young Phoebus managed to gather around him, under the auspices of his label "Spicy", a strong team of singers such as Despina Vandi, Thanos Petrelis, Ellie Kokkinou, Nino, Paola Foka and others. The amount of sales and percentage of the hits released by him confirms what his website biography says: "every work signed by Phoebus is blessed with success."
The negative critical voices we hear, blame this new partnership in the commercialism and advise Nikos to come back to the 'laika' style he was singing earlier. Let us make things clear. It is very important to realise that laika is a commercial trend in music; it is not a chamber music, neither symphony. This genre, being based on the various folk traditions, exists live on the stages of the night clubs. If the public will stop coming to the clubs (bouzoukia), this genre dies.
In fact, the entertainment music has to absorb the new trends, which means it must be enriched by contemporary sound and rhythm to coincide with what people feel like in the nova day’s atmosphere.
Now let us say a few words about the song "Kai ti egine". The lyrics of it, written by Phoebus, bear the subject typical for the “broken heart” ballade. It’s loaded with the feeling of disappointment, and slightly touched with sarcasm – generally it is quite a contrast to the previous Economopoulos’ CD pilot song “Ksimeronei” (Dawning).
Straight from the instrumental introduction we can hear how the composer is skilfully combining the sounds of the traditional laiko instruments (acoustic guitar, bouzouki) with synthesized techno voices.
The verse of the song is written as a dynamic wave. The melody slowly, like the circles of the spiral, is moving upward and hangs on the sustained long note (this is a treat for the listener, because it sounds awesome in Nikos’ voice) The chorus is placed in the higher range and has got a powerful orchestral accompaniment, enriched with bouzouki leading parts, and, as a result, sounds dramatically.
Nikos Economopoulos in this song one more time captivates the listener with an immaculate beauty of his voice. The richness of his timbre allows the singer to not use the ornamental frills, there is no need in them, because his every note sung contains enough of expressiveness. This quality, as well as the inimitable lyricism that prevails in everything he performs, are the main basics of the unique style of the singer.

So, let us enjoy the song and forget about stereotypes. The collaboration of two brilliant talents works well here and, hopefully, will work perfectly in the future too.

Nikos Economopoulos conquered Crete for the second time!

The beautiful island of Crete raged for two nights in a row on 27th and 28th of October 2011, or more precisely, a sort of “joyful insanity” swept the halls of "Gerani Palace" (Rethymno) and Olympia Palace (Heraklion), where the public’s favourite - Nikos Economopoulos – reigned.

Both concerts were triumphs. The hits from different albums by Nikos, including “Δώρο για σένα”,“Δεν είμαι καλά”, “Δεν είμαι κανενός”, “Μια καρδιά στον άνεμο”, “Σημειώσατε διπλό”, “Ξημερώνει” from the last album as well as long-term favourites, such as “Άκουσα”, “Μου 'πε μια ψυχή”, “Κοίτα να μαθαίνεις” and “Έχω να μάθω” sounded in the overcrowded halls. In addition, this youngest of the big “laika” singers performed a series of cover versions, giving to each of them his own, inimitable style.

Dressed either in the breathtaking white tuxedo or, conversely, in an all-black “laika”-style outfit, Nikos, as always, charmed the audience not only with his exceptional, golden voice, but, of course, with his external appeal, enhanced by his charismatic stage manner. At both venues, the final parts of each concert were transformed into a kind of mass madness, when fans who had broken through to the stage were dancing and showering their beloved singer with flowers while trying to hug him.

It's safe to say that the second coming of Nikos Economopoulos to Crete (the first was the summer of 2009) completely cemented his place as one of the most coveted and favourite entertainers there.
