Οδός Μοναξιάς - English translation

Οδός Μοναξιάς ~ Loneliness Street Music: George Sabanis Lyrics: Eleni Giannatsoulia First performance/digital single by  Nikos Oikonomopoulos The day turns to night And Monday is gone The weather is as gloomy As feelings in my heart You cast your longlines Into  the deep darkness Your light is infinite But I am not in it I close my eyes But sleep is shattered My woe has brought me  To your street Your silence Is called treason It throws me again Into a whirl of anger. Оn the Loneliness Street in the early hours On the broken roadside bench I engrave again two our names And I think I live, but I don't breathe.   On the Loneliness Street at dawn I need to learn how not to wait You forgot us, our wonders  and me On the lonely street at dawn... People pass by Back and forth But there are no steps  Which sound like yours   Someone is running nearby She has your perfume But it's  just an illusion You are nowhere seen I close my eyes But...

Nikos Oikonomopoulos talks to Natalia Germanou on Radio Sfera 102,2. (16.12.2016)

Image
The interview was a part of the Greek Music Week celebration on Radio Sfera 102,2. Natalia Germanou and Nikos (Νίκος Οικονομόπουλος) started their conversation discussing Nikos’ new song  «Είναι Κάτι Λαϊκά» - words by Eleni Giannatsoulia and music by George Sabanis -  which was chosen as the favorite song by the singers who were taking part in the Greek Music Week on radio Sfera 102,2. They put it on the top of their choice. Nikos expressed his gratitude to them. Nikos also thanked his listeners for loving this song and bringing it to the first place.  Even though he liked «Είναι Κάτι Λαϊκά» from the first time,  Nikos had some misgivings about it, because this song's music goes beyond the style of laika  we've got used to hear from him until today, and the singer did not know how the audience would accept it. For any artist, a change in the repertoire is quite necessary after a number of years. Respecting the opinion of his colleagues in this r...

Το νέο τραγούδι του Νίκου Οικονομόπουλου: Τα μυστικά της ραγδαίας επιτυχίας του!

Image

The new song by Nikos Economopoulos: Secrets of instant success

Image
"Ennoeitai" (“Obviously”) is a rare case of the song to become a hit before the broadcast.   It gained the success two weeks before the first radio play, during the concert at the four times platinum award for the CD "Tha Eimai Edo". Such a phenomenon is possible when the artist is none other than Nikos Economopulos, a great master with an an exclusive attractiveness in his voice and that rare quality to be perfect in the live sound.   Besides, the soul exposing lyrics by Eleni Gannatsoulia and relentlessly ascending melody by Panos Kapiris made the listeners at the concert to experience an emotional turmoil. Creator of a few time-tested hits for the first album of Nikos Economopoulos, Panos Kapiris once again has composed the music which exactly coincides with what the listener is waiting to hear from this singer: the beauty of the tune and the opportunity for a fascinating flight of his voice. Eleni Giannatsoulia was giving pearls of her poetry ...

Four Times Platinum “Tha Eimai Edo” by Nikos Economopoulos!

Image
А joyful event in the musical life of Athens took place last Friday, 21st of September, 2012,  at the nightclub "Thea". The album "Tha Eimai Edo" by an outstanding Greek singer Nikos Economopoulos   went multi -platinum! To be more exact, this CD, released at the very end of 2011 by EMI ( Greece ) became platinum four times.   A unique collection of songs, many of which are pure pearls to add to the treasury of the Greek song "laika", received high recognition from the audience for the biggest part due the tremendously beautiful voice and a huge musical talent of this artist. Every his album was a commercial success, the three of them've got platinum, inc...

Hidden Treasures: two songs from the album “Tha Eimai Edo”

Image
Review of the two songs from the album “Tha Eimai Edo”, Nikos Economopoulos, 2012, EMI (Greece). Several months have passed since the release of the double platinum album by Nikos Economopoulos “Tha Eimai Edo”. Obviously, the most striking and original tracks of this CD frighten some with their novelty and, therefore, didn't get almost no airplay on radio, even though these songs have earned the love of the listeners on the Internet and at the live concerts of this outstanding artist. For example, two songs written by Eleni Giannatsoulia, words, and Georgos Sabanis, music, (# 2 “Tha eimai edo “and # 8 ”Pou tha me pas”) are the real gems of the album, and if this disc was released somewhere in England or Germany, these two tracks would have a leading position in the radio broadcast. This would happen because currently there is a certain criteria in Europe for the music addressed to a mass audience: songs must match the chosen format, but, at the same time, carry the features of nov...

I’ll Be Here - “Θα είμαι εδώ” (Lyrics translation)

Image
Music : Georgos Sabanis Words: Eleni Giannatsoulia Nikos Economopoulos - Νίκος Οικονομόπουλος Θα είμαι εδώ 2011 EMI (Greece) Everything good once should come to the end … I knew that But this end, I thought, would come much …. later Midnight, 12 o’clock, you switched off the lights and all the miracles You said "I don't even care for Nikos" and you left But you should know that I love you And I will live where you left me. Chorus: I'll be here, always here, I will live, imagine For a turn of your key one night I'll be here for you to come and save me And I'll be here to let you betray me Once again… I was showing you the stars, but your mind was … running Your lifeless hands were caressing me and it was …raining “This is the lifelong love” – we were … thinking We say "goodbye" and the beginning we don’t … remember But you should know: I love you, and I will live where you...

Where will you take me to - Που θα με πας (lyrics translation)

Image
Music : Georgos Sabanis Words: Eleni Giannatsoulia Nikos Economopoulos “Tha Eimai Edo” 2011 If you are the midnight for the big dreams You will find roses on the stairs near the wide opened door And if I will waste away because of love I change my oath: In front of you I'll throw away the souvenirs on the road Will you take me along, will you love me, or my life is a struggle? Either I am always in your embraces, or my life's in ruins! Chorus Tell me, where will you take me to, will you take me to the stars? Or, may be, you get lost and I'll be in pain! Tell me you'll love me or you're armed with knives? . Will you live for me or you are going to leave me? And if it happens that you appear walking in my dream - Step softly, I would say, for not to wake me up To tell the truth I'm afraid of love - I have not forgotten the wave, but I don't remember the ships. Will you take me along, will ...
